The red lace on my daughter’s dress has bled onto the white fabric. Any way to restore the white?
This is a dress I got on ebay for my daughter’s upcoming pageant. Very cute, but was washed incorrectly. The red trim has bled onto the white fabric. This dress is embellished with a lot of rhinestones, so I’m afraid if I dye the whole thing, they will come off. Any way to restore the white without destroying the rest of the detail?
Buy a Clorex Bleach Pen and then you can control exactly where the bleach goes on the white and not affect the red trim. Just take some low tack masking tape (the green or blue kind used for painting) and mask off the red trim so it doesn’t ‘accidently’ get into the bleach.
Apply the bleach in very small dabs (easy to do with the pen end) and wipe away with a wet cloth as you go.
If you ever have to wash this dress – make sure you do it in cold water so it won’t run again.
